Thorin Roberts has several years of senior management experience across the NGO and Health Systems Strengthening sectors. Here he has managed diverse teams and stakeholders towards the achievement of common goals. Before this he spent five years as a lecturer in the Sociology Department at the University of KwaZulu-Natal. In the latter he learnt much about working with and managing Millennials before they were unleashed into the adult population.
Thorin holds a Masters Degree in Population Studies from UND’s School of Development Studies, and an MBA from UKZN’s Graduate School of Business. He has also studied post-graduate modules abroad, these include: Statistics and Cognition and Communication in Survey Measurement at the Institute for Social Research at the University of Michigan; as well as Humanitarian Operations and Logistics at the Copenhagen Business School.
Thorin believes that the marriage of his social science training and practice, business management training and practice, stakeholder management, and organizational management experience present a unique value proposition to SMEs and CSOs looking to drive their performance to the next level. Tink Thank is a platform from which to engage and contribute towards this value co-creation, drawing upon thought-partners where extra capacity or specific skills are required.
In his spare time Thorin is a non-practicing surfer, sometimes skater, perennial guitarist, and #AFOL (“Adult Fan of Lego”… Yup, that is actually a thing).
